Dear Senators,

Greetings.

I’m writing as a resident (and currently a very creative survivor of modern inconvenience) to ask for some urgent attention to what we all pretending is a “situation,” but behaving like something with much bigger ambitions.

Let me be plain.

Right now, people across the Virgin Islands watching groceries turn into science experiments, appliances taking unscheduled vacations, and daily life requiring more strategy than it should. This is not sustainable, and it definitely not cute anymore.

We need action—and not the slow, thoughtful kind that arrive after everything already spoiled.

I am urging you to push for immediate intervention so residents can recover losses from food, supplies, and equipment that didn’t survive the outages. If that route continues to stall, then we need an alternative plan—fast—whether that looks like vouchers, direct assistance, or anything that says, “Yes, we see what’s happening, and we’re doing something about it.”

Because right now, people footing bills for problems they didn’t create… and that math not mathing.

On top of that, we need real movement on microgrids and renewable energy projects across every island. The current timelines feel like they were designed for a calmer universe than the one we living in. Waiting one to three years is not a plan—it’s a test of endurance, and people already tired.

If solutions need to move forward outside of the usual channels, then let’s have that conversation honestly and urgently.

All I’m asking is that by the time Thursday, April 9th reach, we hear something that sounds like commitment and not just another well-dressed explanation.
